Well it’s finally come around – our first family outing on a Southerly. And we’ve been waiting for about 6 months since I booked it. We’ve chartered a Southerly 42RST which is, as it’s name suggests a 42′ foot yacht. Raining but not so windy
The food at the Master Builders was good but not brilliant. The historic setting was fabulous though. We breakfasted very causally and it was clear from the outset that it was likely to rain for most of the day – albeit not heavily. We were in no rush.

Gosport to Buckler’s Hard
The concerns over bad weather had been overstated and we enjoyed a fabulous weekend sailing. After a leisurely breakfast we slipped our moorings mid morning, headed up into Portsmouth Harbour for some steering practice and then out across to Bembridge under sail.
