Today the wind was very poor so we took the opportunity to practice some basic manoeuvres in calm conditions. Pick up buoy, reversing on to a pontoon like they do in the med, and mooring up and slipping off a training pontoon in the Medina. We were able to practice this several times.
We currently moored up at East Cowes Marina. Facilities very good and tomorrow we expect to sail up the Beaulieu River and then across to Yarmouth.
Back off to school again today after a night at home. Rather than 14 hours alone on this I choose to sweat and drug out my cold in a centrally heated house. Watched, at last, Reservoir Dogs on Bluray.
First night on board wasn’t great. Quite chilly and my cold was quite disturbing. Typical – years without catching one and then the night before 9 days on board and I catch big one.
You can see the school yachts here. Mine is the one on the left and lessons are on the blue barge.
