The concerns over bad weather had been overstated and we enjoyed a fabulous weekend sailing. After a leisurely breakfast we slipped our moorings mid morning, headed up into Portsmouth Harbour for some steering practice and then out across to Bembridge under sail. Weather not looking great
Here’s the extended outlook from 2300 last night. Fingers crossed…
Deep Low expected Lundy area 981 late Thursday, transferring slowly northeast through Friday, expected Dogger Low 997 early Saturday, then southwest Norway 1004 by midday Sunday. New centre expected west of Scotland 1006 by early Sunday. Ridge of high pressure expected to extend northeast from Azores to northwest France during Friday, transferring south thereafter. Looking forward to a weekend on the water
Several months ago we suggested to two other couples that it might be nice to park the kids with family and take to the water. Checking my email I realised that was back in July 2011. We’re now only a fortnight away. Helen & I will be sailing with the Scott Browns and Locketts in the Solent. We’ve chartered a Bavaria 38′ Cruiser – one which I’ve sailed before and the same model as we chartered in Greece this summer. Continue reading Looking forward to a weekend on the water
