I’m off to the Solent tonight for 2 days short handed sailing. Looking forward, firstly, to getting out on the water for the first time this season and the weather looks great. First skippered Channel crossing
I elected to skipper my first Channel crossing from Gosport to Cherbourg. My reasoning was that this would be a daytime passage whereas skippering a first Channel crossing at night would be pushing it. Raining but not so windy
The food at the Master Builders was good but not brilliant. The historic setting was fabulous though. We breakfasted very causally and it was clear from the outset that it was likely to rain for most of the day – albeit not heavily. We were in no rush.
